Samuel Fischer Guest Professorship for Literature

Since 1998, the Samuel Fischer Guest Professorship for Literature exists at the Department of Comparative Literature. It is sponsored by Freie Universität Berlin, the German Service for Academic Exchange (DAAD), S. Fischer publishers and the Lecture Forum of the Georg von Holtzbrinck Publishing Group. Writers from different cultures are invited to further the critical reflection of world literatures. From summer term 2005 the Heiner Müller Guest Professorship for Literature exists at the Department for Comparative Literature. The annually selected laureates supervise each a literary workshop for young authors at the departement, in which twenty Berlin students have the opportunity to discuss their own literary works with the laureate. The project is firstly set up for five years.
